Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Gratopia collects when you play on our Minecraft server (gratopia.gg, Java and Bedrock), use our Discord (discord.gg/gratopia) or buy from this store, how we use it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

When you play

• Your Minecraft account: your username and UUID. For Bedrock players, your Xbox gamertag.
• Your connection: your IP address. We use it to enforce bans, spot alt accounts and keep server stats.
• Gameplay: playtime, stats, inventories, claims, homes, shops, money and GC balances, votes, and logs of blocks you place, break or take from. These keep the economy working and let us investigate griefing and duping.
• Chat and commands: public chat messages are logged, and the commands you use (including private messages) are recorded in server logs.

Voice chat

• Voice chat is optional. Your microphone stays blocked until you accept voice chat in the /vc menu.
• Once you accept, speech that other players can hear is turned into text transcripts for moderation.
• Audio is only kept when a clip is flagged by our moderation check, so staff can review it.

On Discord

• If you link your account with /link, we store your Discord ID and username alongside your Minecraft account.
• Support tickets, including transcripts, are kept so we can follow up and handle appeals.

When you buy

• Payments are handled by Tebex. We receive your username and UUID, email address, name, IP address, country, what you bought and how much you paid.
• We never see your full card details. Those go to Tebex and their payment providers.
• This store uses cookies and local storage for your basket and to remember settings like sound and theme.

How we use it

• Running the server and delivering your purchases and rewards.
• Moderation: enforcing the rules, handling reports and appeals, and stopping cheating, duping and ban evasion.
• Support when you open a ticket.
• Leaderboards, stats and improving Gratopia, like spotting lag, common questions and feature ideas.
• Automatic answers: our server helper can reply privately to questions you ask in chat.

AI services we use

• Public chat messages are sent to Anthropic (Claude) to answer player questions, understand how chat is going, summarize conversations and help staff spot problems.
• Voice chat audio is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text.
• These providers process the data only to give us that service. Staff review anything flagged before taking action.

What is public

• Your username, rank, cosmetics, stats and leaderboard positions are visible to other players and on our stats and map sites.
• Store purchases can be announced in game and on our Discord, and supporters appear on the Hall of Fame page with what they've spent.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We only share it with the services that help run Gratopia:

• Our server host (servers in the United States).
• Tebex, for payments.
• Discord, for our community and support tickets.
• Anthropic and OpenAI, as described above.
• Vote sites only get the username you type in when you vote.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect players and the server.

How long we keep it

• Chat logs: 180 days.
• Voice transcripts: 60 days.
• Flagged voice audio: 30 days.
• Ban and punishment records: as long as they are needed for moderation.
• Purchase records: as long as needed for accounting, tax and chargebacks.
• Gameplay data (inventories, claims, builds, stats): for as long as the server runs, since Gratopia's map never resets.

Children

You must be at least 13 to play on Gratopia, and players under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission. If we learn that a player under 13 is on the server, we will remove their information. Parents can open a ticket on our Discord to ask what we hold about their child or to have it removed.

Your choices

• You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by opening a ticket in #contact-support on our Discord.
• Some records can't be deleted, like ban records and purchase records we need to keep.
• Deleting your data may mean losing your progress, items and purchases on the server.
• You can turn voice chat off in the /vc menu at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local privacy laws, and we'll honor them.

Keeping it safe

Access to logs and player data is limited to Gratopia staff and the services above. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
